Torsion Shafts

Garage Door Torsion Bars are steel shafts that install above doors to hold torsion springs, drums, provide structural support, and retain spring tension. When activated by the operator, the torsion bar spins to open and close a garage door by winding up the cables. Belt drive, chain drive, direct drive, and more garage door operators attach to the torsion bar, also known as the torsion tube or torsion shaft, and rotate it to operate the garage door. Torsion Bars from Action Industries are available in lengths ranging from 13 feet to 20 feet in 11 Gauge to 16 gauge thicknesses to fit the needs of any overhead torsion style garage door.
