Action Industries has many different sizes of springs available for purchase. Custom springs are available for purchase. Please call your sales representative for pricing and more information. In order to determine which option is right for you, there are four pieces of information that we need to know:

    1. Wire Size

    2. Inside Diameter

    3. Length of spring

    4. Wind of spring (Right or left wound)

    WIRE SIZE:

To Determine your wire size take a tape measure or caliper and measure the distance between 10 coils, and then 20 coils. Please make sure that there are no gaps in the spring (fully compressed) when getting these measurements.

    INSIDE DIAMETER:

With the same tool from step one, measure the inside diameter of the spring to the nearest 1/16th of an inch. Many manufacturers will stamp the inside diameter on spring cone as well.

    LENGTH OF THE SPRING:

While unwound, measure the full length of the spring. This means the coils only, not the cones.

    WIND OF THE SPRING:

Each spring is wound a certain direction. Take the end of the spring and look at the cone, if the wire is coiling to the right (clockwise), the spring is Left Wound. If the coil is pointing to the left (counter-clockwise) thats a Right wound spring.
